  • 2D and 3D Data Import Functions (Requires 3D Extend module) - Incorporated a feature to import geometric data with the following 2D and 3D vector/polygon data file formats:

    •  DWG and DXF (AutoCAD file formats)
    •  SHP (Esri shapefiles)
    •  STL (Stereo Lithography)
    •  OBJ (Wavefront)
    •  PLY (Stanford Triangle Format)
    •  DEM (Digital Elevation Model including .DEM, .TIF/TIFF, .HGT formats)

    2D and 3D Import Functions - BREEZE ExDAM

  • 3D Map Data Objects (Requires 3D Extend module) - Added a feature to import and edit 2D and 3D geometry files that are displayed as 3D Map data objects in the Project data tree. The following functions are provided with 3D Maps:

    • Rotation/Translation as Move/Copy with standard 3D Window click-and-drag operations.
    • Rotation/Translation as Move/Copy with standard Toolbar Move operations.
    • Rotation/Translation as Move/Copy with standard Selection properties operations.
    • A portion of 3D Maps can be displayed using min/max boundary planes. This is necessary for geographically  large data sets such as DEM files and Esri Shapefiles.
    • Cutting planes display XYZ sectional geometry through 3D polygonal data. This is useful to guide the creation of block structures from the 3D data.

    Import and Edit geometry files - BREEZE ExDAM

    NOTE: It is assumed, when project locations are at the edge or corner of a DEM, that importing two or four neighboring DEMs is necessary. In this case the DEMs are automatically combined into one 3D Map data object (i.e. a single terrain surface is MUCH easier to manipulate than two/four separate surfaces). It is assumed that projects will import either (i.e. only) one, two, or four terrain maps.

  • Save/Set Results Views - Incorporated a function to save all results settings to (and restored from) .exrv files (Results View) located in the Graphical Results Tab > View settings > Options menu. Results settings include:

    • Min/Max Levels Method (Data Min/Max or User Min/Max) for automatic Levels/Colors or User Defined Levels/Colors
    • Results Data Tree settings (i.e. the display of Block Results and Sample Grid Volumes, Isosurfaces, and Contour Planes)
    • Sample grid results values (i.e. Volume Window settings, Isosurface values, Contour Plane locations)
    • Sample grid results display properties (e.g. Opacities, Ambient intensities, Line colors, etc.)
    • View Orientation
    • Data object display/opacity
    • People sizes

    Three Set options are provided to restore results settings from a Results View file:

    • Set Results View - Restore all settings, including the View Orientation
    • Set Results Levels - Restore only data Levels/Colors
    • Set Results Display - Restore Data Levels/Colors, Data Object Display/Opacity, and Displayed Results (i.e. Results data tree)

    NOTE: Saving/Setting a series of Results Views is particularly useful for 3D Video Capture.

    NOTE: View orientations stored in .exrv files can be restored using View/Options/Set View.

  • XY Contour Blocks Editing - Added a new feature that provides a manual editing mode to quickly create a series of connected blocks along a contour line on an XY plane. This editing mode typically involves clicking points (i.e. generating blocks) along the top surfaces of either 2D Map data objects or the XY Cut Planes of a 3D Map data object. The height and width of new contour blocks are derived from previous blocks. Numerous geometry options (e.g. snap to length delta, snap to angle delta, maximum length, etc.) are provided in the Edit properties table's Contour Blocks category. This editing mode is very useful for generating complex-shaped/curved structures.

  • Structures from Esri Shapefiles (Requires 3D Extend module) - Added a new function to automatically create and position structure blocks when Esri 3D building files are imported.

  • Shapes/XY Block Contour(s) - Implemented a new Shapes function to automatically generate contour blocks along the contours of one or more vertically offset XY Cut Planes of 3D Map data objects. The 3D Maps Boundary Planes Widget allows the user to limit the contour generation to a bounded sub-region of a 3D Map object (e.g. a region of a DEM surface). Numerous function options (Block Min/Max Length, Width, Height, Max Contour Deviation, and more) are provided in the Edit property table's Shapes/XY Block Contour(s) category. When executed with the Shapes XY Block Contour(s) button (located in the Structures Tab > Selection Settings), the XY Block Contour(s) function will automatically generate connected structure blocks along all contour lines on one or a series of XY cut planes. This function is very useful for generating complex-shaped surfaces from 3D Map data objects.

Enhancements

  • Sky Sphere Display - Updated Sky Spheres to be centered on the Focal Point and scaled over all displayed anchors.

  • Fly-To Operations - Improved right mouse clicks (i.e. flying to a picked point) so it no longer zooms to picked points unless the picked point is close to the Focal Point. Points picked further from the Focal Point now mostly translate to the center without zooming. This prevents too much zooming when positioning with right mouse clicks.

  • Rotation Slider Bars - Updated the Rotation slider bars so it now has:

    • Angle marks corresponding to the Edit property table's Delta values/Rotation value
    • User-specified background color and opacity (i.e. rotation bars can now be seen when objects are behind them)
    • Size properties to adjust their on-screen width and height

  • Results Color Legends - Improvements to the legend include:

    • Level values are now displayed as linear values (not just log10) based on the Selection property table's Results Display Options/Pressure Impulse Values setting
    • Below/Above and Min/Max Level Colors are now displayed based on the Selection property table's Block/Grid Below/Above or Min/Max Level Colors settings
    • Background can be a user-specified color and opacity i.e. color bars can now be seen when objects are behind them
    • Damage/Injury thresholds (i.e. No/Slight/Moderate/Severe) are now displayed and labeled below the Block Damage/Injury color legend

  • Block/Grid Below/Above Min/Max Level Colors - Added options to display, hide, and set the color of results data with values below the Min Level and above the Max Level to the Selection property table's Results Display Options category for both Block and Grid results data. Below/Above Min/Max Colors are also displayed and are editable in the Selection/Results Data Set/ Colors property list when appropriate. The Results Color Legends also display Below/Above Min/Max Colors when appropriate (see image above). These settings affect the display of Block results (i.e. blocks with damage/injury/pressure/impulse values below/above min/max levels are not displayed when the Display options are toggled off) and Sample Grid Volume/Contour Plane results (i.e. regions of below min and/or above max data are not displayed when the Display options are toggled off).

  • Contour Plane Location Snapping and Rotation - Added options to allow XZ and YZ contour planes to snap to a single selected point location and rotated about a Z axis by three methods: the center point, single selected point, or snapped to two selected points.

  • Block Line Opacity Control - Improved block line opacity so it no longer changes when executing Selection Opaque/Transparent operations. Block line opacities are now exclusively controlled with the Block Lines properties in the Display properties table. Block line opacities are no longer saved to project files.

  • PNG Files for 2D Maps - Added .png file option to 2D Map image file import formats

  • File Open Status Messages - Improved File Open status messages and progress bar.

  • Model Run Status Messages - Included hh:mm:ss format with elapsed time and completion times in status messages.

  • Current Project Directory - Improved the current project directory so it is now 'set' and 'fixed' after using File Open and Save As operations.

  • Color-Coded Values in Results Tables - Results table cells containing Damage/Injury and incident OP/DP/Impulse values can now be color-coded to be consistent with the color bars in the Graphical Results tab mode. Checkbox options are available to turn on colors for OP, DP/Impulse, Damage/Injury the in Graphical Results tab mode toolbar.

  • Results Tables Parent/Child Number - Replaced the checkbox options to display Parent Levels and Child Levels in the Results Tables/Tables tool group with a number field for Parent Levels and Child Levels (i.e. user can now specify the number of parent/child levels rather than 'all' parent/child levels).

  • Results Tables Structure Name Paths Option - Added the ability to replace the path (i.e. parent node names) of Structure names in results tables with dashes to indicate 'tree level'. This option reproduces the Project data parent/child tree levels appearance in the Structure names column making it much easier to read structure names, identify parent/child relationships, and greatly reduces wrapping/clutter in the Name cells.

  • Results Tables Project Level Automatically Set with Selection - When structures/people are selected in the Project data tree the Table/Project Level value is set to the top-most selection level and the Project Level value in the Table tools group is overridden/disabled.

  • Crash Recovery to Project Folder - Improved the crash recovery process to restore the crashed file back to its original project folder with a .recover####.exp extension so that the user is not working in the TempData folder and a permanent backup of the recovered file is restored to the original project folder.

  • Multiple Options for Crash Recovery Process - Added a Recover Process property to the Interaction category of the Display properties table, with two options PromptUser and Automatic. The default is set to PromptUser, which causes a Recover File Save As dialog to prompt the user to save recovered files into their original project folder. The Automatic option automatically moves recovered files, with their .recover####.exp extension, to their original project folders without prompting the Save As command (i.e. without prompting the user to rename the recover file).

  • Application Startup - Improved the application window form to display in the center of the screen in predefined dimensions, with detailed splash screen messages. The application is then maximized with a second render, if it was previously closed in the full screen mode.

  • Hot Key for File Save As - Added keyboard shortcut for Save As (Ctrl+Shift+S) Command.

  • Multi-Run Dif/Min/Max/Avg Displayed in Labels and Titles - When multiple runs are loaded, the selected multi-run option (i.e. Dif/Min/Max/Avg) is displayed in the Selection properties table's category labels and Color bars' titles to informs the user that multiple files are being compared.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug that caused all instances of the 'Person/Type/Pose' object to be removed when replacing a library file

  • Fixed a bug that caused the wait cursor to be inconsistent during long processes

  • Fixed a bug when only single block points are selected:

    • Structure & Block properties are active and unresponsive when they shouldn't be active
    • Rotation Slider Bar and Point 'Angle' properties values are not updated 
    • Associated blocks are selected and not subsequently unselected when Move/Translate/Rotate is executed 
  • Fixed an issue that caused initial window display during application startup to not function correctly

  • Fixed a bug that caused the left-click and drag mouse rotate operation to execute an unintended object point selection causing the intended selection to be lost

  • Fixed a bug that caused the right-click and drag zoom operation to perform an unintended pick and zoom operation

  • Fixed an issue that caused 2D Maps image translation and scaling for small blocks to not work correctly

  • Fixed an issue that caused the selection color to not update correctly when switching between project development tabs

  • Fixed a bug that caused selected volume, isosurface, and contour plane properties to not persist when opening different/multiple results files (and properties settings were NOT consistent with what was displayed). NOTE: When possible, contour plane locations and isosurface/volume-window pressure/impulse values are now carried through making it much easier to compare model runs.

  • Fixed an issue that caused the clipping plane to not update when displaying sample grid actors (i.e. contour planes, isosurfaces, volumes). Screen rotation was necessary to display 'whole' actor.

  • Fixed an issue that caused the library, 2D Map, and 3D Map drop-down files lists in the Library Objects and Maps tab mode toolbars to reverse so that the last added files are displayed at the top of the lists

  • Fixed a bug that caused HExDAM sample grid dynamic pressure values to be a factor of 6894.75729. .too low (i.e. saved as PSI instead of Pascal)
